Grimm’s Large Wooden Rainbow

The large 12 piece wooden rainbow represents the element of air. It is a wonderfully versatile open ended toy:  a much used building set, it can be enjoyed by young and old. This large rainbow tunnel can be used in as many ways as imagination allows; the parts can be used for stacking and nesting, making spirals, it may become bridges, tunnels, houses, fences, mountains; it can be used in ball runs, and be used to create both simple and clever sculptures, it can be used with other block sets for creating elaborate and impressive building projects. A wonderful piece for a small child to grow into – giving a few pieces at a time to a young child it can be used as a simple jigsaw, or for stacking, as their imagination develops perhaps it’s parts will be used as a bridge for cars? a rocking cradle for a small doll? homes for little animals?

It is a beautiful aesthetic feature piece to leave assembled on display when not being used, making it an ideal simple ‘self contained toy box’ item for places that children occasionally visit such as grandparents home, a waiting room, an office toy (adults are known to have bought them primarily as distractions for themselves to play with)

Materials: lime wood, dipped in non-toxic water based colour stain.
Size: Length 35.5-36.5 cm / Height 17-18cm.

Grimm’s love wood because it is a natural material, each wooden piece is an individual as it is hand cut and finished in a way that allows for the natural properties of the timber to be preserved. Although either hand dipped in a water based paint or natural oil, each piece will retain the look and feel of timber, always one of a kind, carrying unique marks made by nature. Wood grain structure and colour variations can reveal a story of the tree, which serve as a reminder of its natural origins. The unique variations are to be admired and celebrated, they are proof of quality, not defects.
