Fagus = Beech, the  timber which every Fagus item is made from; there are no nails, screws or staples used at all in the manufacturing of Fagus toys. They are made the old fashioned way using skilled carpenters techniques of interlocking, wooden gears, dowels and non toxic glues, hand sanding, finished with a non-toxic transparent lacquer to seal and protect the timber, whilst allowing the natural timber texture to be seen and felt, so that the natural wooden structure is protected but still may be enjoyed and admired.
